Housing for Women Launches Telephone Befriending Service

Published 13 March 2019

Housing for Women is delighted to today announce the launch of our Telephone Befriending Service, offering free friendship calls for our residents aged over 60.

With around a quarter of our residents aged 60 or over, a key aspect of Housing for Women’s services is supporting our residents to live independently and help prevent isolation. We are therefore thrilled to launching our Telephone Befriending Service for our elderly residents.

Our volunteer befrienders will be phoning residents at agreed times for a chat, providing friendly conversation and companionship on a regular basis over a long period of time.

All Housing for Women residents aged 60 or over are welcome to opt-in for this service. To find out more or to opt-in, please contact Nadine Hughes, Older Residents’ Officer, by calling 020 3794 4812 or emailing Nadine.Hughes@h4w.co.uk.
