On Sunday 30 September 2018, Housing for Women’s annual EPIC Run raised over £580 for our lifesaving services.
With around 40 people taking part, the event took competitors through a challenging 5 or 10k route through picturesque Brockwell Park in South London, tackling some fantastic scenery and a few hills along the way.
Several organisations got together to support us with the event. A huge thank you to Intuit Quickbooks who provided dedicated runners and fundraisers and Fierce Grace Brixton, who donated items for runner goody bags.
Erika Jenkins, Director of Supported Housing at Housing for Women, commented: “We were thrilled to see the amount of support for our runners on the day. The money raised will be directed to where it is most needed, supporting our blend of gender-specific support services for vulnerable women and children in London.”
“I’d also like to thank all the volunteers, runners, staff and local community who gave up their Sunday to help out on the day.”
This news follows the announcement last month that Housing for Women has re-launched its ReUnite project, following a generous grant from the National Lottery. The ReUnite project provides support to women released from prison, helping them to be reunited with their children.
