Housing for Women supports #Evelyn200 initiative

Published 16 April 2019

Housing for Women is proud to be supporting the #Evelyn200 initiative.

Evelyn200 is a project to plant 200 trees in the Evelyn Electoral Ward, Deptford, Lewisham.

This brilliant project is aiming to address the fact that this area has the lowest number of trees and the worst air quality in Lewisham in one of London's poorest neighbourhoods with a staggering 43% child poverty.

Housing for Women funded tree number 153/200, a Kentucky Coffee Tree, planted on 28 March 2018 on Rolt Street. The tree is dedicated to Antonio Marchesini who was tragically killed in a hit-and-run here on 3 June 2018.

A big thank you to the team at Evelyn200 for reaching out to us and for making this happen. Our thoughts and prayers are with Antonio Marchesini’s friends and family at this difficult time.
