Older Tenants Officer

A quarter of our tenants are women aged over 60.

Housing for Women employs a dedicated Older Tenants Officer to assist our older tenants (defined as aged 60 and over). The Older Tenants Officer focuses on assisting our tenants in their existing homes as well as exploring other housing options as their individual requirements change. For example, our general needs housing may no longer be suitable for those with reduced mobility or need for more intensive care or support.

Our Older Tenants Officer helps Housing for Women's older tenants with:

  • providing a floating support service
  • sign-posting tenants to external services and voluntary agencies
  • arranging for the provision of aids & adaptations including liaison with occupational therapy, health and social services, in conjunction with the Property Services team
  • providing benefits and financial inclusion sign-posting
  • combating social isolation by providing a range of social activities and supporting befriending opportunities
