Give to Gain: Creating Safe, Brighter Futures for Women
This International Women’s Day, we reflect on the theme Give to Gain - a reminder that lasting change happens when we invest in women’s safety, wellbeing, and opportunity.
At Housing for Women, this principal shapes everything we do. By giving specialist support, safe homes, and compassionate guidance, we help women gain the stability and confidence they need to rebuild their lives.
For more than 90 years, we have provided safe, affordable housing and gender‑specific services for women facing inequality and crisis. Our work supports women experiencing homelessness, domestic abuse, trafficking, and other forms of vulnerability - groups disproportionately affected by insecure housing and limited access to safety and justice.
Across London, we offer a wide range of services that give women protection, stability, and hope. These include refuges, community‑based support, a confidential advice line, and dedicated accommodation for women with complex needs, including those leaving prison or recovering from substance misuse.
By providing secure homes, practical advice, and emotional support, we help women regain control and rebuild their futures with dignity.
Every day, our teams give their knowledge, care, and expertise so women can gain independence, resilience, and long‑term wellbeing. We see this impact in the thousands of women and children who have found safety and the chance to thrive through our services.
This International Women’s Day, we invite our supporters and partners to join us. When you give - your time, your voice, or your resources - you help women gain safety, opportunity, and a future free from fear.
Together, we can build a more equal and safer society for all.
